On July 25, 2003, the Electronic Communications Act entered into force. According to the law, the visitor of a website must be informed of what cookies are used for and given the opportunity to refuse such use.

Cookies are saved as small files on the user's computer. The purpose of cookies is partly to improve for the user in terms of individual settings, but also to give the author a more reliable statistic.

At www.sverige.com, both session cookies and "regular" cookies are used. Session cookies are used as login aids and disappear when you close your browser, and are therefore not saved, while the regular cookie is stored on your computer for a longer period of time.

The regular cookie is used to measure statistics.
